3rd-4th December 2019, The NEC, Birmingham

Youth Justice Institute

The Youth Justice institute (YJI) was established in 2019. It comprises a consortium of key academic and operational organisations; the Universities of Derby, Suffolk, University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN) the Open University, and the Association of Youth Offending Team (YOT) Managers, supported by the YJB and coordinated by Unitas.  The YJI will identify and disseminate the latest research and evaluation evidence to help practitioners, managers and volunteers in youth justice improve outcomes for young people.

Development of reflective practitioners who are confident in using theories of change, assessing relevant evidence and increasingly involved in self-evaluation will be a priority for the Institute.  This will be achieved through a comprehensive range of innovative learning resources for managers and practitioners in both custody and the community via The Youth Justice Institute Learning Hub
